The fascinating play of light and shadows of the landscape has always attracted many artists. Giovanni Sengantini himself chose Maloja as his final resting place and a souce of inspiration and subject for many of his works. Even Giovanni Giacometti, the father of Alberto Giacometti, worked and painted in Maloja, and his artistic spirit still inspires today exhibitions, conferences and concerts. The village on the pass, on the border with authentic Bergell, is appreciated by walkers, art and families.
